While I become reacquainted with sanity, a destructively turbulent period of bizarre euphoria comes to an end.I am no longer able to contend with the laws of reality, as I reluctantly shed a false and dangerous sense of manic invincibility.As the havoc terminates, falling rubble reveals seemingly irreparable damage caused by my derangement.I observe the debris stupefied, realizing that the most essential components of my life have been reduced to ruins.Shock gives way to regret, regret gives way to shame, and shame gives way to despair, as unsettling realizations overwhelms me. As I’m plunged into a pit of gloom and misery. I am overwhelmed by debilitating feelings of angst and helplessness. My having previously soared above the clouds only serves to accentuate the dreadful experience of sinking into darkness and depression.Attempting to reverse my decent, I desperately grasp for hope, but my efforts prove fruitless, as I am unable to locate even a trace.For what feels like an eternity, my decline continues before terminating, with a gentle thud, on the floor of a formidable chasm. The fragments of a decimated past – my profession, my relationships, my reputation – gradually float down and land beside me.Once all is settled, I survey my surroundings and come to the realization that there are things of value to be salvage from the wreckage.As pick up one piece and fix it to another, I recognize that, although my old life has been destroyed, its possible to rebuild another.
